Cut MP3 online

What it does

Keep the part of a song or recording you want, or cut out the part you don’t: a ringtone, the intro for a video, a cough in the middle of an interview. Drag the edges of the waveform, or type the exact start and end times.

• Keep or remove. Keep just the selection, or remove it and keep everything else, joined without a click.
• Fade in and fade out, set in seconds, so a clip starts and ends smoothly.
• From a video too. Open an MP4, MOV or WebM clip and cut its soundtrack. MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A and OGG open as well.
• Loop plays the selection over and over while you fine-tune the edges.
• History keeps every change, so you can step back to any earlier selection.
• Saves as WAV, MP3, FLAC, M4A or an iPhone ringtone, under a name you can edit.

How to cut an MP3

1. Choose your file, or drag it onto the box above.
2. Drag the dark edges of the waveform to the start and end of the part, or type the times in Start and End.
3. Choose Keep selection to keep that part, or Remove selection to cut it out.
4. Press Play to hear the result; click anywhere on the waveform to listen from that point.
5. Press Export and pick a format.

Cutting mid-sound can leave a click at the edge. Switch on Fade in or Fade out — a few tenths of a second is enough.
